Sponsored by AFFC, this Fire Chaplaincy training event is a two-day training event highly recommended for fire chaplains, and others in fields of public safety, disaster response, mental health, emergency services, healthcare, spiritual care, etc. This course will cover incident assessments, strategic intervention planning, “Resistance, resilience, recovery” continuum, large and small group crisis interventions, adverse outcome associated with crisis intervention, critical Incident Stress Debriefing, reducing risks, and much more.


This event is February 6th and 7th at the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. ALL current Active Members are $200. Non-members are $250. Price includes the training classes, all course materials, and daily lunches, snacks, and drinks. Early registration is required.

This course will cover why a Fire Chaplain is Needed, Incident Command System overview, a chaplain’s role in a crisis and LODD, the Power of Listening, an intro to Critical Incident Stress Management, designing your Fire Chaplaincy Program, how to make a proper Death Notification, and more.
