Assisting Individuals in Crisis (Tuscaloosa)

Sponsored by AFFC, this chaplaincy training is a two-day event highly recommended for fire chaplains that provides techniques for one-on-one crisis intervention for those in the fields of Disaster Response, Emergency Services, Security, Military, Mental Health, Healthcare, Education, Spiritual Care, etc. This course will cover Psychological Crisis and its Intervention, Resistance, Resiliency, Recovery Continuum, Critical Incident Stress Management, Basic Crisis Communication Techniques, Psychological & Behavioral Crisis Reactions, Putative & Empirically Derived Mechanisms, SAFER-Revised Model, Risks of Iatrogenic “Harm,” Suicide Intervention and Evidence-Based Practice.

This event is on February 5-6, 2027, at the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily with a fellowship and sign-in starting at 8:30. ALL current Active AFFC Members are $225. Non/In-Active AFFC members are $250.  The price includes the training classes, all course materials, and daily lunches, snacks, and drinks.
